DAY 1: COUNTRYSIDE RIDING
Hoi An to Tay Giang (or Bho Hoong) (120 km)

Delve into the heart of central Vietnam with this 2-day adventure. We set off from Hoi An on what promises to be an unforgettable voyage of rugged roads, rustic villages and stunning highlands. Pack your sense of adventure and leave behind those preconceived notions of touristy villages: this journey is the real deal. With the wind in your hair, we zip through the Hoi An countryside to Marble Mountain before we then head west and climb our way into the mountains. As we wind our way up into the hills towards the Lao border home to the Co Tu minority, we take a break to visit one of the few remaining Co Tu woodcarvers and enjoy a home cooked lunch in his stilted house before continuing our journey deep in to the mountains, meandering through isolated villages where the culture and traditions remain untouched by time making this remote and staggeringly beautiful region home to one of the most authentic hill tribes to remain in Vietnam.

We arrive mid afternoon at our stop for the night, home to the Co Tu Ethnic Minority group.
(For this night we have several options: A traditional basic bamboo hut at Droong village, a basic hotel room in Tay Giang or a more luxurious experience at Bho Hoong Bungalows ***.)

(Accommodation: Hotel – Upgrade to Bho Hoong Bungalow on request)
(Meals: Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 2: HO CHI MINH TRAIL
Tay Giang to Hoi An (150 km)

After breakfast and a hot cup of coffee we jump back on the bikes for our return journey to Hoi An. Today’s drive crosses the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail, through lush forests and past jaw-dropping views of the central Vietnam Mountains. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any more beautiful we arrive at a waterfall tucked alongside a towering peak for a picnic lunch. The afternoon sees us descending back down toward the coast, stopping along the way to explore old bases from the American war, crossing the Thu Bon River by local ferry (motorbike tour only. Jeep tour takes alternate route) and following our unique rural laneway and floating bridge road (motorbike tour only) back into Hoi An.

(Meals: Breakfast, Lunch)

    Testimonials

Unforgettable Trek – From the beauty of rural Vietnam, the quaint villages, muddy mountain roads, torrential rain, staying in a ethnic minority village over night, touring the rice paddies, a banquet by a local former King of his village and the thrill of seeing it all riding pillion on the back of a traditional Minsk motorcycle, not even heaven could compare.

Seriously – the highlight of our Vietnam trip! Both my husband and I agreed we learned more in 2 days on this trip than the remainder of our trip. And honestly, after the highlight of this trip, the rest of the trip had a hard time living up to it. Hoi An Motorbike Adventures definitely gets a 5+ star rating from us. The support crew was great and the people we met along the way were phenomenal. If you are the type of traveler that revels in getting off the beaten track, this is for you: small groups (we only had one other couple with us), amazing food and truly local. Would do this tour again in a heartbeat. Love, love, loved it!
