DAY 1: COUNTRYSIDE RIDING
Hoi An to Kham Duc (200 km)

Delve into the heart of central Vietnam with this 2-day adventure. We set off from Hoi An on what promises to be an unforgettable voyage of rugged roads, rustic villages and stunning highlands. Pack your sense of adventure and leave behind those preconceived notions of touristy villages: this journey is the real deal.

Our route follows peaceful backroads through rice paddies and rural farming communities before climbing into the lush mountains. As the road winds higher, dense jungle and sweeping valleys replace the coastal plains, and we begin travelling through villages inhabited by the Co Tu ethnic minority. The Co Tu people have lived in these mountains for generations and are known for their rich traditions, distinctive stilt houses and deep connection to the surrounding forests. Passing through these villages offers a fascinating glimpse into a way of life that has remained largely unchanged for centuries.

Joining one of the most scenic sections of the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail, you’ll enjoy flowing mountain roads with breathtaking views around every corner.

Lunch is served in a local village, where you’ll have the opportunity to sample authentic regional cuisine before continuing deeper into the highlands. During the afternoon, we’ll stop at a beautiful waterfall for a refreshing swim before visiting the impressive Ba Hoong Waterfall, a place steeped in local legend and surrounded by pristine forest.

By late afternoon we arrive in the peaceful mountain town of Kham Duc, where you can relax with a cold drink before enjoying dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

DAY 2: HO CHI MINH TRAIL
Kham Duc to Hoi An (200 km)

After breakfast we leave Kham Duc, passing the remains of the former military airstrip before heading into another remote section of the Ho Chi Minh Trail. This lesser-travelled route winds through mountain forests, rubber plantations and traditional farming communities, offering fantastic riding and incredible scenery throughout the day.

We’ll skirt the shores of a vast hydroelectric lake before descending towards the fertile valleys surrounding My Son. Those interested can choose to visit the ancient My Son Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the spiritual heart of the former Champa Kingdom.

Continuing towards the coast, we’ll ride through peaceful fishing villages and quiet country roads, with the option of visiting the colourful mural village of Tam Thanh if time allows. Our final stretch follows scenic coastal roads back to Hoi An, bringing an unforgettable two-day adventure to a close.

    Testimonials

Unforgettable Trek – From the beauty of rural Vietnam, the quaint villages, muddy mountain roads, torrential rain, staying in a ethnic minority village over night, touring the rice paddies, a banquet by a local former King of his village and the thrill of seeing it all riding pillion on the back of a traditional Minsk motorcycle, not even heaven could compare.

Seriously – the highlight of our Vietnam trip! Both my husband and I agreed we learned more in 2 days on this trip than the remainder of our trip. And honestly, after the highlight of this trip, the rest of the trip had a hard time living up to it. Hoi An Motorbike Adventures definitely gets a 5+ star rating from us. The support crew was great and the people we met along the way were phenomenal. If you are the type of traveler that revels in getting off the beaten track, this is for you: small groups (we only had one other couple with us), amazing food and truly local. Would do this tour again in a heartbeat. Love, love, loved it!
