9 vacation days / 8 nights / 7 riding days – Join us on an extraordinary voyage across exotic Morocco.
Our 7-day on-off road journey will see us crossing the area south of the imperial city, through spectacular deserts and dirt tracks as we travel high up into the Atlas Mountains where we will encounter the gorges of the M’goun, marvel at miraculous desert oases and stumble across ancient villages. Along the way we will stay in traditional Moroccan riads and sample classic Moroccan cuisine before we come full circular and land back in beautiful Marrakech.

8 nights in a double room in a hotel and characteristic riads 3 – 4 star

Tour Grading: Intermediate with challenging off-road sections

The length of and the stages may vary depending on weather conditions and the route, but on average it corresponds to about 150km per day. The route takes place for 70% along dirt roads and about 30% on paved roads or in good conditions, although often very narrow and steep and with many curves.

    DAY 1: Arrival in Marrakesh

    Arrive by scheduled flight and transfer to your hotel. Then it’s time to begin exploring the most important imperial city in Morocco, the “red city”.

     

    DAY 2: MARRAKECH – AL MOUHADINES

    Today we pick up our motorbikes and, after a briefing with our guide, depart the city. We begin our ascent up the High Atlas Mountains and stop off at Tinmel, one of the oldest mosques in Morocco. Our accommodation for tonight is 2100 meters above sea-level, on the top of Tizi’n’Test passes.

     

    DAY 3: DAR EL MOUAHIDINES – TAZENACHT

    Today we will continue traveling through the mountains, taking in the unforgettable scenery, and on to remote Berber villages, admiring their completely self-sufficient lifestyle. We arrive tonight in Tazenacht.

     

    DAY 4: TAZENACHT – FOUM ZGUID

    A key city for Berber trade, today we explore Tazenact and get the chance to visit a carpenter to see the ancient manufacturing process of nomad carpets. Then it’s onwards through incredible mountain trails, oases and landscape similar to the savannah. Our overnight stop today is Foum Zguid.

     

    DAY 5: FOUM ZGUID – TAMNOUGALTE

    During the morning we will have the chance to admire the beguiling desert of Tissint that evokes a lunar landscape and where a Martian meteorite landed in 2011. During the day we travel along the oases of the Draa the most important river of Morocco, before visiting the historical Kasbah Des Caids Du Mezguita, near Tamnougalte, where we will sleep for the night.

     

    DAY 6: TAMNOUGALTE – BOUMALNE DADES

    After passing the mountain pass Tizi ‘n’ Tazazert, where we will sample a typical Moroccan mint tea and enjoy a breathtaking view from the top of the mountain, we will reach the wonderful Valley of Dades. From here we can admire the oases that forms below. Later we will travel along an easy track between the spectacular Red Stone Canyons until we reach the fragrant Rose’s Valley. Here flows the M’Gouna River which oozes and gouges its way through the canyons.

     

    DAY 7: BOUMALNE DADES – OUARZAZATE

    Leaving behind the Valley of Roses we head to Ourzazatte, located at a crossroads of the Dadss valley and close to the sandy desert of the Sahara. We will get a chance to see the Atlas Corporation Studios, where Hollywood films set in the desert are produced and shot.

     

    DAY 8: OUARZAZATE – MARRAKECH

    Today we return to Marrakech, riding through the desert and the alpine hills of the Atlas Mountains, following fantastic paved roads. In the morning we will have the opportunity to visit a UNESCO world heritage site. The Ait-Ben-Haddou is a fortified city or ksar which sits along the caravan route between the Sahara desert and Marrakech, along the river Ouarzazate.

     

    DAY 9: MARRAKECH

    Today we depart Marrakech and say a fond farewell. Take a transfer to the airport or take a few days to explore this fascinating ancient city in more detail.
